Gears and Steers Concert Goes on Despite RainThe Bobby Labonte and Jerome Davis charity concert was held on Friday, October 17th in Archdale, NC at the Jerome Davis Ranch Arena. The 1st Annual "Gears and Steers" concert starred platinum recording artist Tracy Byrd and featured Statesville, NC native Rockie Lynne as a special guest. Although rain settled in, many hardy fans braved the elements to hear some great music, dance the two-step in Jerome's arena and support a great cause, The Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation. The foundation supports those who have suffered spinal cord injuries by funding research and supplying quality of life grants to those living with spinal cord injuries. Jerome Davis suffered a spinal cord injury in a rodeo accident in 1998. Bobby and Jerome have remained friends since Bobby donated winnings from a race in Darlington to help Jerome. (View the ESPN story!) They teamed up to host the concert in hopes of raising awareness and funds for this cause. The evening was also special because it was Jerome and wife Tiffany's 10th wedding anniversary. Tracy Byrd dedicated his Academy of Country Music 1996 Song of the Year, "Keeper of the Stars" to Tiffany and Jerome. Thank you to our sponsors listed below. Also thanks to Tracy Byrd and his band, Rockie Lynne and his band, both of their crews as well as the guys at Special Event Services and the Enoch Agency for making the evening happen. Also thanks to the many volunteers who worked through the wet conditions to support the event.
